Texas Gun has changed form a few times over the years, starting out with George Payling Snr and his sons, George Jnr and Simon. But one thing that’s never changed? The absolute guarantee that you’re in for a fantastic evening of music and laughs.
The trio set out on expanding their already extensive portfolio by running and promoting events all over the country. Then as if that wasn’t enough, they branched out into providing sound and lighting for Major UK Festivals.
George’s Snr and Jnr toured as a duo for several years after Simon left the group circa 2012, before taking on another generation of the family in grandson Ryan. They toured as a trio once again, entertaining the adoring public and always leaving every gig satisfied they’d left on a high.
Sad times struck when George Snr passed after a short illness and sadly missed out on seeing all his tremendous work paying off and being inducted in the British Country Hall of Fame.
Texas Gun continues to tour today, with an equally fantastic lineup of George Jnr and legendary steel-guitarist, Davie Holland. This doesn’t stop George’s son Ryan making an appearance when they’re together, getting the family band back together and keeping the memories alive.
