STATELINE are an award-winning country music based duo consisting of two brothers, BILLY and ROBERT and are based in Ayrshire Scotland. They are currently one of the most popular acts in the Country Music and Line Dance scene in Central Scotland.
BILLY and ROBERT started off playing together around 1980 in a four-piece Social Club band covering everything from Pop and 60s to Country Music as it was then. This continued for about seven years until the band split up and they went their separate ways with BILLY working as a solo cabaret artist and ROBERT continuing in the now “three piece band” in the “Social Club” circuit for some time.
They then got back together as STATELINE, a line dance / country duo as they knew that was the type of music they could once again get a kick out of playing.
On stage ROBERT plays bass guitar while BILLY plays lead guitar and keyboards with both brothers sharing vocals. Being brothers and having similar voices produces a unique sound in their harmonies.
The musical backing and computer work is produced by STATELINE in their home studio. BILLY records all the musical parts i.e. piano, strings, guitar etc and ROBERT attends to bass guitar and drums. A lot of their studio work can also be heard as backing tracks used by some of the top acts in both the Country Music and Social Club circuits.
